Jack frost visited overnight. It was -2° @ 7am.
Barry stoked up the fire and we cooked some fruit loaf for breakfast using our marshmallow forks. We went for a very chilly short ride before packing up and departing about 10.30am. It had warmed up to 10° by then.We headed off to Tara for an early lunch stop.
From Tara we headed off towards Meandarra but taking a shortcut so we didn't actually go in to the town. Google maps said it was 12 minutes quicker. It was a beautiful 14km dirt road that was in great condition. Old Coomrith rd was a new road for us.⬇️ We saw an echidna. We found another dirt rd short cut which avoided us going through St George and saved about 15 minutes. Old Chelmer rd was also in very good condition and the scenery was lovely. We saw kangaroos, emus and had to slow down for cows a few times. Also another new road for us.
We have set up camp at the Nindigully Pub, the oldest pub in Queensland. I had a lovely party for dinner but Mark's pork ribs, while tasty, were tough and not very meaty. We elected to eat indoors as it was a little chilly. After a few games of uno no mercy we headed to bed .
Today we travelled 299kms.
