Day 8. Lightning Ridge. 13.6.25

Bit chilly, 3°, on my morning meander and I didn't grab my coat. BoM said it got down to -0.1° at 3.57am.

Today we went on a tour with Susie and Mel to their home. We heard life stories and anecdotes, poems, the wonderful culture of the locals and even a song or 2. We had a guided tour of their amazing off grid block. The original buildings were built by the very talented artist John Murray and his wife Vicky, in the later years. We were treated to a delicious devonshire tea.

The tour was very entertaining and if we ever find ourselves in Lightning Ridge again I would definitely do it again.
In the afternoon we jumped on the bikes to go to the hardware store to buy a new rope for a washing line and found a few other things we just couldn't live without. We took the scenic route home and enjoyed a bit of look around the parts of town off the main street.
We went along to the Mel and Susie show in the van park for the 3rd night and the entertainment was funny as always and different each night.

We had way too much to eat for dinner at the bowling club and decided that we'd probably sink if we went in the hot pool so retired early.
Today the temperature got up to 16.7°
